Next meeting

Our next meeting is Thursday 25 October 7-9pm, in the bowls pavilion as usual, then every Thursday until the end of March. If it's clear we'll be having scopes outside. If it's cloudy we'll have a talk on 'The British Space Race', a video of a Brian Cox interview in which he talks about black holes, CERN, growing up in Oldham and much else, and a video with spectacular images of Jupiter from NASA's Juno mission. Further info will be posted here on Thursday morning once we've checked the weather forecast.

On Thursday 10 January 7.30 to 9.30pm we will be having a 'Stargazing for Beginners' evening. If you got a new telescope for Christmas we can help you set it up. There will be talks on what there is to see in the night sky and how to find your way around the constellations. If it's clear later you will be able to have a look through our telescopes set up outside. If it's not, we will be showing astronomy and space videos. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Free. Hot drinks and biscuits available.
